NMF Hosts Professional Education Lecture on the Future of Underwater Domain Awareness

The National Maritime Foundation (NMF) hosted Vice Admiral Sanjay Mahindru, PVSM, AVSM, NM, IN (Retd), for a Professional Education Lecture on “UDA: Where We Are and Where We Need to Go”.

The session began with welcome remarks by Vice Admiral Pradeep Chauhan, AVSM & Bar, VSM, IN (Retd), Director General, NMF, followed by Vice Admiral Mahindru’s presentation on the current state and future direction of Underwater Domain Awareness.

The lecture examined the growing importance of UDA in strengthening maritime security, enhancing situational awareness, and addressing emerging challenges in the underwater domain. It also highlighted the need for continued strategic, technological, and policy attention to this increasingly critical area of maritime affairs.

The session concluded with an engaging audience interaction and closing remarks by the Director General, NMF, contributing to the Foundation’s continuing Professional Education Lecture Series on maritime security and strategic issues.
