MAKING WAVES E-NEWS BRIEF 4 JANUARY 2021 – 10 JANUARY 2021

Despite lower carbon emissions due to the economic slowdown imposed by COVID-19 restriction, 2020 had the joint highest global temperatures on record. Data released by the European Union’s Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) indicated that higher temperatures resulted in extensive wildfires and lower levels of Arctic sea ice. This data highlights the need for sweeping changes to contemporary economic processes.
