NMF Hosts Professional Education Lecture on the Evolving Strategic Situation in West Asia

The National Maritime Foundation (NMF) hosted Vice Admiral Sanjay J Singh, PVSM, AVSM, NM (Retd), Director General of the United Services Institution of India, for a Professional Education Lecture on “West Asia — Situation and Prognosis”.

The session offered a wide-ranging assessment of the evolving geopolitical and security environment in West Asia. Vice Admiral Singh examined Iran’s civilisational and strategic outlook, including its approach to deterrence and strategic decision-making, while also reflecting upon intelligence assessments and the factors that have shaped recent developments in the region.

The discussion further explored the implications of the prevailing situation for India, particularly in the context of energy security, connectivity corridors, maritime interests, and broader strategic choices.
