Along with the first sea trials of the Indigenous Aircraft Carrier (IAC) Vikrant in early August, the Indian Navy has been steadily augmenting its capability-building engagements with the partner navies of the Indo-Pacific. In the last fortnight alone, the Indian Navy has conducted four bilateral naval exercises. It is also slated to conduct the first exercise with the Royal Saudi Navy. This focus on enhancing synergies with the navies of the Indo-Pacific will aid a cooperative approach towards addressing the existing and emerging challenges of the region.
