IMF-NMF Webinar on Development of Marine Propulsion and Future Perspectives
The National Maritime Foundation, and the Indian Maritime Foundation are organising a joint webinar on the topic of “Development of Marine Propulsion and Future Perspectives” on 18th Sept 2021.
The webinar will commence at 10.30 a.m. and will be covered in three sessions, each of approximate duration one hour; of which two will be before the lunch break and one post lunch and we hope to wind up by about 3.30 p.m. The Keynote Address will be delivered by Mr Ajoy Chatterjee, former Chief Surveyor cum ADG Shipping, Govt of India, and we are honoured to have many other distinguished participants. The objectives of the webinar are to recount the development of marine propulsion from the early days of oar and sail, to the present day steam, diesel, gas turbine, nuclear and battery-driven propulsion, as well as to explore futuristic technologies and reliable/sustainable energy sources that can efficiently propel ships, yet without causing untold harm to the marine environment and the atmosphere.
The Webinar will be conducted using the Zoom platform and simultaneously live-streamed on YouTube. Besides several participants from the Indian Navy and Merchant Navy, both serving and retired, we also hope to have wide participation from other stakeholders in the field of marine engineering as also students from various engineering colleges and schools.
It will be our privilege and honour to have you at the Webinar as a participant. A brochure covering all aspects of the event including the programme, concept and profiles of the various speakers can be accessed here-
