NMF Leadership Participates in Forces First Conclave: The Navy Edition

The National Maritime Foundation participated in the ‘Forces First Conclave: The Navy Edition’, presented by Republic TV, which brought together leading defence voices, naval veterans, and strategic thinkers to deliberate on contemporary maritime challenges and opportunities.

As part of the Defence Veterans Panel titled “Lessons from the Sea: Experiences that Shaped Strategy,” Karambir Singh, Chairman of the National Maritime Foundation, shared insights drawn from his extensive naval experience. His remarks highlighted how operational experiences at sea inform strategic thinking and shape broader maritime security perspectives.

In the Defence Naval Outreach Panel, Vice Admiral Pradeep Chauhan, AVSM & Bar, VSM (Retd), Director-General of the National Maritime Foundation, spoke on “Evolution of Maritime Diplomacy in the 21st Century.” His intervention examined the changing contours of maritime diplomacy, emphasising its growing relevance in fostering regional cooperation and advancing national interests in the Indo-Pacific.

The conclave provided a platform for in-depth discussions on the evolving dimensions of maritime power, naval strategy, and defence engagement. It underscored the importance of integrating operational experience with policy frameworks to address emerging security dynamics.

The event concluded with closing remarks by Commodore Jai Bedi, Executive Director, National Maritime Foundation, who reflected on the key themes discussed and emphasised the need for continued dialogue on maritime strategy and cooperation.
