NMF Hosts Dialogue with Maldives National University to Strengthen India–Maldives Maritime Cooperation

The National Maritime Foundation (NMF) hosted an introductory meeting in New Delhi with Dr Athaulla A Rasheed, Head, Centre for Security and Strategic Studies, The Maldives National University, to explore avenues for strengthening bilateral maritime cooperation.

The discussions focused on potential collaboration in maritime security, the Blue Economy, and broader regional cooperation, reaffirming a shared commitment to deeper institutional engagement between India and the Maldives.

The meeting was attended by Vice Admiral Pradeep Chauhan, AVSM & Bar, VSM, IN (Retd), Director General, NMF; Captain Ranendra Singh Sawan; Commandant Neeraj Sharma; Ms Muskan Rai; and Ms Sruthylacshmi B Bhat, representing the National Maritime Foundation.

The interaction underscored the importance of sustained dialogue in building trust and enhancing cooperation across the Indian Ocean Region.
