NMF Hosts Defence Services Command and Staff College Delegation from Sri Lanka

The National Maritime Foundation (NMF) hosted a 24-officer delegation from the Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC), Sri Lanka, for an institutional interaction on India’s maritime interests.

The session featured a presentation by Commodore Jai Bedi, Executive Director, NMF, on “Overview of India’s Maritime Interests”. His presentation offered the visiting delegation a perspective on India’s maritime outlook, strategic priorities, and the wider significance of the Indian Ocean Region in shaping regional security and cooperation.

Commodore Jai Bedi also delivered the welcome and closing remarks. The session was followed by a vibrant audience interaction, enabling an exchange of views on maritime security, India–Sri Lanka engagement, the Indo-Pacific, and shared maritime concerns.

The visit concluded with an exchange of mementos between Commodore Jai Bedi and the delegation, reflecting NMF’s continuing engagement with regional military education institutions and its contribution to maritime dialogue in the Indian Ocean.
