NMF at the Indian Maritime Heritage Conclave, 2024
Two members of the National Maritime Foundation (NMF) participated in the Indian Maritime Heritage Conclave held on 11th and 12th December, 2024 🗓️, at Yashobhoomi Convention Centre, New Delhi. Ms Priyasha Dixit (Research Associate) and Mr Suraj Palavalsa (Research Intern) proudly represented NMF at this prestigious event organised by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, GoI.
The conclave was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including the Hon’ble Vice President of India, Shri Jagdeep Dhankar, and featured keynote addresses from Adm D K Joshi (Lt Governor, Andaman & Nicobar Islands), former Chairman, NMF, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal (Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways), Shri Mansukh Mandaviya, and Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, alongside renowned historians and archaeologists such as Prof Vasant Shinde, Dr K N Dixit, and Dr K K Bhan.
The event also showcased insights from 11 international speakers and explored India’s rich maritime heritage, global trade links, cultural exchanges, and its significant contributions to seafaring history.
Through their participation, NMF continues its mission to deepen understanding and foster dialogue on India’s maritime legacy and future .
