MAKING WAVES: E-NEWS BRIEF 26 OCTOBER-1 NOVEMBER 2020

The success of Turkish built, Azerbaijani operated armed drones against Armenian tanks in the ongoing conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh could evoke an interest in these armed platforms, thereby increasing Turkey’s military exports. While India, an operator of unarmed surveillance drones, is biding its time in purchasing armed drones from the US, Australia, India’s QUAD partner, is the latest recipient of US-developed drones for maritime surveillance. In other news, the Chinese  could benefit from the Israel-UAE peace agreement as the Chinese company, Shanghai International Port Group (SIPG), is expected to operate the Bayport container terminal, a part of the port of Haifa for a period of 25 years from 2021.
