Quadrilateral Diginar Series on Blue Economy- 2nd Diginar on “Ensuring sustainability of oceans for a healthy economy- securing livelihoods and enhancing security”
With a significant share of the coastal community riddled with poverty, the current COVID and climate change crises would exacerbate their vulnerabilities. The global economic recession would impact shipping, tourism and fishing significantly. With relief, recovery and stimulus packages being envisaged for impacted sectors, the need to align them to sustainability is critical to ensure their implementation is on track and leading to long term benefits. Adoption of sustainable methods can provide long term economic benefits and provide access to new opportunities.
Therefore, to have a robust discussion on the theme of, “Ensuring sustainability of oceans for a healthy economy- securing livelihoods and enhancing security”, which is part of the Quadrilateral joint project partnered by KAS (India Office)-TERI-NMF-FICCI under the aegis of “Blue Economy-India’s Pathway to a Sustainable, Secure and Resilient Economy” from 2020-2021, The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) would be organizing a diginar on October 28, 2020.The first diginar of the series was organized by the NMF on 21 September 2020.
