The National Maritime Foundation partnered with the Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi, to convene a high-impact session on ports, shipping, and blue economy resilience.
The session featured a fireside chat moderated by Dr Chime Youdon, Head of the Resilience, Sustainability and Ocean Resources (RSOR) Cluster at the National Maritime Foundation. The discussion focused on Indo-Pacific maritime strategies in the context of climate risks, supply chain vulnerabilities, and evolving geopolitical dynamics.
A keynote address was delivered by Dr Sanjeev Ranjan (IAS Retd), Member of the Adjudicatory Board for Major Ports and former Chairman of the National Shipping Board, as well as former Secretary, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways. His address provided valuable insights into the development of sustainable ports, the strengthening of resilient shipping systems, and pathways to unlock India’s blue economy potential.
The session underscored the importance of integrating sustainability, infrastructure development, and strategic policy frameworks to ensure long-term maritime resilience. It also highlighted the role of academic–policy partnerships in shaping forward-looking maritime discourse.
The National Maritime Foundation remains committed to advancing thought leadership on port-led development, resilient maritime infrastructure, and the sustainable growth of the blue economy in India and across the Indo-Pacific.
