Captain R S Sawan, Senior Fellow at the National Maritime Foundation (NMF), as part of the Indian delegation visiting Dhaka, called on Shri Pranay Verma, High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh, to discuss key issues related to regional maritime cooperation.
During the interaction, the delegation shared insights and outcomes from a three-day workshop on Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA) in the Indian Ocean Region, jointly organised in Dhaka by the Bangladesh Institute of Maritime Research and Development (BIMRAD) and the National Security College (NSC), Australian National University (ANU).
The discussions also focused on identifying avenues to further strengthen maritime cooperation between India and Bangladesh, with particular emphasis on enhancing shared maritime awareness, collaborative capacity-building initiatives, and regional maritime resilience in the Indian Ocean Region.
