NMF Hosts Professional Education Lecture on “Mobilising for a Free and Open Indo-Pacific”

The National Maritime Foundation (NMF) hosted Mr Arzan Tarapore, Research Fellow at the Centre for International Security and Cooperation, Stanford University, for a Professional Education Lecture (PEL) on the theme “Mobilising for a Free and Open Indo-Pacific.” During the lecture, the speaker underscored the strategic importance of the Quad and its role in advancing the regional security architecture of the Indo-Pacific.

The session commenced with opening remarks by Admiral Karambir Singh, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, IN (Retd), Chairman and Former Chief of the Naval Staff, Indian Navy, and Commodore Jai Bedi, Executive Director, NMF.

The lecture was followed by an engaging question-and-answer session, with active participation from members of the faculty. Discussions covered a wide range of issues, including the role of the Quad within the maritime security framework of the Indian Ocean Region, India–United States bilateral relations, the TRUST initiative, and India–Australia bilateral cooperation, among other matters of regional and strategic relevance.
