NMF Director General Calls on Taiwan’s Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs; Reaffirms Democratic Cooperation in the Indo-Pacific

Vice Admiral Pradeep Chauhan, AVSM & Bar, VSM, IN (Retd), Director-General of the National Maritime Foundation (NMF), paid a courtesy call on Mr Baushuan Ger, Vice Minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Taiwan.

Building on years of constructive engagement during Mr Ger’s tenure as the Taipei Economic and Cultural Center (TEEC) Representative in New Delhi, the interaction reaffirmed the deep commonalities between India and Taiwan as vibrant, pluralistic democracies committed to openness, innovation, and shared prosperity.

The discussions explored avenues for India and Taiwan to leverage opportunities in the Indo-Pacific through cooperation, collaboration, and comity. The dialogue underscored the value of democratic partnerships in offering a credible and successful alternative to autocratic paradigms, while contributing to regional stability and inclusive growth.
