NMF and Japan Transport and Tourism Research Institute Sign MoU to Deepen India–Japan Maritime Cooperation

The National Maritime Foundation (NMF) and the Japan Transport and Tourism Research Institute (JTTRI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking a significant milestone in strengthening maritime cooperation between India and Japan.

The partnership aims to advance collaborative research and policy dialogue in key areas such as maritime transport, tourism, and maritime security—domains that are central to shaping a resilient and sustainable Indo-Pacific region. Under the MoU, both institutions will jointly organise seminars, lectures, and research initiatives, fostering mutual understanding and encouraging strategic thinking on maritime governance and regional connectivity.

Beyond a formal agreement, the MoU reflects the enduring bond of trust and friendship between India and Japan, grounded in shared democratic values and a common vision for a free, open, and inclusive Indo-Pacific. The collaboration represents a forward-looking step towards building a safer, more connected, and cooperative maritime future.
