NMF-SCIL Webinar on Maritime Security in the Indo-Pacific
The National Maritime Foundation (NMF) and the Stockton Centre for International Law (SCIL), US Naval War College, USA, have been collaborating on various panels since November 2019. The two renowned institutions initially collaborated at a seminar in Maharashtra National Law University, Mumbai on 01 November 2019 and later in their Inaugural Dialogue on Contemporary Challenges in International Maritime Law on 07 January 2020. In continuation of this strategic partnership and to discuss pressing issues in the Indian Ocean Region, the NMF is partnering once again with SCIL for a webinar, scheduled to be held on the 3rd of June 2020, from 1930 hrs to 2100 hrs (IST), to discuss,
1. Indian Navy’s approach to Operational Maritime Law
2. Security threats in the Indian Ocean Region and the South China Sea
3. United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea and a stable Indian Ocean
This webinar is designed to bring together, globally renowned speakers and experts, on ‘the Law of the Sea, Naval Operations and the Laws of Naval Warfare’, to share ideas and perspectives that will facilitate open and in-depth discussions on the topics.
