NMF Senior Fellow Highlights Technological Responses for Critical Maritime Infrastructure at Rome Seminar

Commodore Manish Sinha (Retd), Senior Fellow at the National Maritime Foundation (NMF), delivered a presentation on “Technological Responses” during the Peer to Peer Seminar on the Protection of Critical Maritime Infrastructure, held in Rome, Italy, from 28 to 30 April 2026.

During his intervention, Commodore Sinha highlighted the central importance of the seas to India’s economic growth and the vision of Viksit Bharat, while drawing attention to the renewed impetus being provided to revitalise the country’s maritime sector.

Emphasising the importance of self-reliance and indigenous technological capability, he showcased the spirit of innovation driving India’s defence industrial ecosystem. The presentation also highlighted cutting-edge solutions emerging through the Innovations for Defence Excellence (iDEX) initiative and the wider defence innovation framework under Atmanirbharta.

The session underlined the growing role of emerging technologies, indigenous innovation, and a resilient defence ecosystem in strengthening maritime security and protecting critical maritime infrastructure.
