Vice Admiral Pradeep Chauhan, AVSM & Bar, VSM (Retd), Director General of the National Maritime Foundation (NMF), delivered an address at the 13th Global Ocean Regime Conference, hosted by the Korea Maritime Institute (KMI) in collaboration with the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, Republic of Korea.
In his address on “Ocean Governance for Sustainable Blue Economy: An Indian Perspective,” Vice Admiral Chauhan outlined India’s evolving approach to building a resilient, secure, and inclusive Blue Economy. He emphasised the importance of robust governance frameworks and international cooperation in addressing emerging maritime and environmental challenges.
The conference, themed “The Law of the Sea and the Blue Economy in the Age of Climate Crisis: Emerging Challenges,” brought together leading global experts and practitioners to deliberate on the future of ocean governance, climate resilience, and maritime sustainability. The engagement underscored India’s continued contribution to shaping global maritime discourse and advancing cooperative solutions for the world’s oceans.
