NMF Delegation Highlights Global and Indian Perspectives on Maritime Piracy at ISIL Seminar

Vice Admiral Pradeep Chauhan, AVSM & Bar, VSM, IN (Retd), Director-General, NMF, Captain Yogendra Prakash Sharma, Deputy Director and Senior Fellow, NMF, and Captain Ranendra S Sawan, Senior Fellow, NMF, participated in a one-day seminar on “Maritime Piracy: International Perspectives and Future Concerns” organised by the Centre for Advanced Studies in International Humanitarian Law and Military Law, Indian Society of International Law, New Delhi.

Vice Admiral Chauhan spoke on “Maritime Piracy and Crimes at Sea: Historical Background; Maritime Piracy in Recent Times: Worldwide Experience.” Captain Sawan addressed “India’s Efforts in Suppression of Maritime Piracy,” while Captain Yogendra Prakash Sharma spoke on “Private Maritime Security Companies (MSC) Providing Privately Contracted Armed Security Personnel (PCASP) on Board Ships in the High-Risk Area.”
