Advancing India–Viet Nam Maritime Cooperation: Inaugural NMF–DAV Seminar Highlights Shared Indo-Pacific Vision

The National Maritime Foundation (NMF), in partnership with the Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam (DAV), successfully conducted the inaugural NMF-DAV Seminar in Ha Noi on 27 March 2025. Focused on “Promoting Maritime Security and Cooperation in the Indo-Pacific,” the seminar marked a key milestone in the growing partnership between the two institutions under the 2024 Memorandum of Understanding.

Prior to the seminar, Vice Admiral Pradeep Chauhan, AVSM & Bar, VSM, IN (Retd), Head of the NMF delegation, met with Dr Nguyen Hung Son, Acting President of DAV, to exchange pleasantries and discuss future collaboration. Also present were Dr Do Thanh Hai, Deputy Director of the East Sea Institute, and Dr Le Quang Trung, Vice President of the Viet Nam Maritime Corporation (VIMC).

Both Vice Admiral Chauhan and Dr Hung Son reaffirmed their commitment to deepening collaboration through future engagements and policy recommendations for India and Viet Nam’s Track One establishments. The event concluded with an exchange of tokens of appreciation, symbolising the shared vision for a secure and prosperous Indo-Pacific.
