THE NATIONAL MARITIME FOUNDATION SIGNS MOU WITH THE MARITIME INSTITUTE OF MALAYSIA (MIMA)

The MOU was signed by the National Maritime Foundation (NMF) and the Maritime Institute of Malaysia (MIMA) on 24th May, 2023 during the LIMA’23 International Maritime Conference at Langkawi, Malaysia to set forth the general terms of their proposed cooperation in relation to academic and research activities between India and Malaysia in Maritime Domain.  The Prime Minister of Malaysia witnessed the signing of the MOU between NMF and MIMA.

 “Maritime Institute of Malaysia (MIMA) is a policy research institute set up by the Malaysian Government is a policy research institute set up by the Malaysian Government to look into matters relating to Malaysia’s interest at sea, and to serve as a national focal point for research in the maritime sector”

With Dato Sufian Awang (Chairman MIMA) and Mr BN Reddy (India’s High Commissioner to Malaysia) and Ms Sumathy Permal, the Senior most Researcher of MIMA, immediately after the MOU signing ceremony.  The splayed fingers are the symbol of LIMA because the word for the numeral five is LIMA!
