In a stunning display of capacity-building, China’s naval shipbuilding programme commissioned three new vessels in a single day. Meanwhile, in India, the Indian Navy has launched Operation Samudra Setu-II to transport liquid medical-grade oxygen-filled cryogenic containers and other medical equipment from several countries in India’s extended maritime neighbourhood to tackle their shortage in Indian hospitals due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The deployment of seven naval ships to countries such as Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, and Singapore demonstrates the Indian Navy’s operational flexibility to provide humanitarian assistance — at short notice — to its citizens using a diverse range of assets across numerous locations within the Indo-Pacific.

Extraordinary collaborative action between nearby countries in your region and the determined support of the Indian Navy to its citizens, to face the serious situation of Covid 19. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
