Scientific Research Institute of Sea and Island (SRISI)

The Institute for Marine and Island Science Research (hereinafter referred to as the Institute), was established with key human resources being scientists who founded, operated and developed the Center for International Maritime and Sea Law – University of Law, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (established in 2003). It is a science and technology organization under the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (established by the Union in 2012), operating under the Law on Science and Technology, the Government’s Decree detailing the implementation of the Law on Science and Technology, the Circular of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Charter and regulations of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations.

Constantly striving to create high-quality legal science products & legal services, making excellent contributions to the cause of protecting and promoting the rule of law, justice, sovereignty and sovereign rights, especially sovereignty over seas and islands, as well as the interests of Vietnam, through research activities, consulting and scientific criticism on policies & laws; contributing to building, protecting and developing a strong Country, worthy of the historical tradition of nearly a quarter of a century of serving the People and the Fatherland.

SRISAI Institute is a research institute on international law, maritime law and marine sciences, a leading national, regional and international strategic policy and law advisory and review agency.
