Ms Swati Ganeshan — Shakti Rise Fellow, Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation, New Delhi — spoke on “Coastal Resilience and Energy Infrastructure” in Professional Session Two – “Building Coastal Resilience: The Way Ahead”, on Day Two of the Vice Admiral KK Nayyar Fellowship Conference 2023.
About the Speaker:
Ms Swati Ganeshan has over 16 years of research experience and media experience. Her research is largely focused on policy and geopolitical analysis, and multilateral cooperation in the field of energy, climate, oceans, and SDGs. She was an Independent Consultant working on projects for the European Commission, among others. She is also Honorary Adjunct Fellow with the National Maritime Foundation, New Delhi. Swati has also been a Fellow and Area Convener, at the Centre for Resource Efficiency & Governance, The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), New Delhi, for 12.5 years. She has led and contributed to research on the Blue Economy in Asia-Pacific, Blue Economy and sustainable development issues, regional energy cooperation, carbon-neutral strategy roadmap for Indian States, the role of energy in the European Union (EU) and emerging power relations (emerging 5), assessing energy risks across fuels, coal and nuclear energy, hydro politics in GBM basin, critical non-fuel minerals for India’s strategic interests, and global and regional energy security cooperation, among others. She has led and been part of projects supported by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), AETS France, the European Commission, and UNESCAP, amongst others. Swati has a Master’s in International Studies (Security Studies) from the University of Birmingham, UK; Master’s in Mass Communication from Jamia Milia Islamia University, New Delhi; and a Bachelor’s in Journalism from Kamala Nehru College, New Delhi.
