About the Speaker

Dr. Mumin Chen is Deputy Representative of Taipei Economic and Cultural Center (TECC) in India, and Professor at the Graduate Institute of International Politics, National Chung Hsing University (NCHU), Taiwan. Before he also served as Vice President for International Affairs, and Director of the Center for Studies on South Asia and Middle East at NCHU.

Chen’s research focuses on non-traditional security issues, foreign relations of China, and politics and security in South Asia.  He has published 6 books and co-edited 3 books with topics relating to India, South Asia, and International Relations. He also promoted academic and think tank cooperation between Taiwan and India. He founded South Asia Watch in Taiwan, an information platform providing news and analyses about India and South Asian countries since 2014, and the Taiwan Association for South Asian Studies in 2017 and served as Chairperson till 2020.
