Centre for Contemporary China Studies (CCCS) is a think tank of the Government of India. The CCCS was established in December 2017 and functions under the Ministry of External Affairs. It carries out research on contemporary issues related to China and provides policy recommendations to various departments of the government. The Centre also monitors various aspects of China including foreign policy, internal developments, economy, science & technology, bilateral relations and Chinese activities in India’s neighbourhood.

The Centre interreacts with various top foreign think tanks in India and abroad, to gain a wider perspective on regional outlook towards Choina. The Centre conducts round table discussions, invites subject matter experts for talks and also host annual seminars. The CCCS faculty is regularly invited to deliver lectures at various government institutions and also participates in major conferences.

The CCCS is committed to qualitative and policy-oriented research and aspires to be one of the leading think tanks dedicated to the study of China. The CCCS logo depicts the search a\for a deeper understanding of China, which is like navigating through a maze. The acronym of the Centre is built into the maze, where black represents the hidden knowledge, grey on the right represents the fog in understanding with red interspersed to depict China.
