
Ms Anuttama Banerji
Bio - Profile
Ms Anuttama Banerji is a Research Associate at the Indian and Regional Maritime Security (IRMS) cluster where she assesses the impact of the maritime geostrategies of the Americas’ in general and the United States in particular on those of India. She has held Visiting Fellowships with the Stimson Center (USA) and NIICE (Nepal) respectively. Her core research areas include India-US defence cooperation along with water and maritime security in South Asia. Her recent journal publications have appeared in Strategic Analysis and the Journal of the United Services Institution of India. Her work has also been published widely in leading national and international media outlets like the Asian Age, Deccan Herald, Greater Kashmir, Lowy Interpreter, South Asian Voices, South China Morning Post, The Diplomat and the 09DashLine among others. She is a polyglot and is fluent in French and Urdu in addition to her native Hindi and Bengali. On the academic front, she holds Master’s degree in International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science in the UK and Jawaharlal Nehru University in India.
