Maritime Affairs solicits well researched articles on aspects related to the maritime world. Articles submitted to Maritime Affairs should be original contributions and should not be under consideration for any other publication at the same time. If another version of the article is under consideration by another publication, or has been, or will be, published elsewhere, the authors should clearly indicate this at the time of submission. By submitting a manuscript, the author(s) agree that the copyright for their article is transferred to the National Maritime Foundation, if and when the article is accepted for publication. The copyright covers the exclusive reprints, photographic reproductions, microform or any
other reproductions of similar nature and transactions. Copyright of articles published in Maritime Affairs rests with the National Maritime Foundation.
Two types of articles are solicited: Full length articles (5000 words) and short commentaries (3000 words). The article should begin with an indented summary of around 100-150 words, which should describe the main arguments and conclusions of the article. Six keywords relevant to the article should also be listed. Details of institutional affiliations of the author(s), full address(es) and other contact information should be included on a separate cover sheet. Any acknowledgements should be included on the cover sheet as should a note of the exact length of the article.
Articles should be submitted electronically in .doc/.docx format as editable files. The article may be modified to fall within the purview of the journal. It is the responsibility of the author(s) to ensure that where copyright materials are included within an article, the permission of the copyright holder has been obtained. Maps/figures/diagrams will be published in black & white. A free copy of the journal will also be provided to the author.
