About the Speaker

Dr Tenzin Desal is a Senior Research Fellow and Research Coordinator at the Tibet Policy Institute Dharamshala. He is also the editor of Tibet Policy Journal. His primary research focus lies in the domain of “Development in Tibet and Ethnic Policy in China.” His educational journey began with foundational years at TCV Ladakh, followed by the successful completion of his doctoral studies in Anthropology from the University of Mysore. Within the realm of academia, Tenzin Desal has exhibited a keen interest in several fields; Ethnic Policy unraveling the complex dynamics within, Cartography (spatial representations and their socio-political implications) and Tibetan History.
