About the Speaker

Shri Bhupender Yadav holds the portfolios of the Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and the Minister of Labour and Employment since July 2021. He is a Member of the Upper House (Rajya Sabha) of India’s Parliament from the state of Rajasthan. The Hon’ble Minister was elected to the Rajya Sabha in 2012, and again in 2018. As a Member of Parliament, he has been a member of several parliamentary committees. Shri Bhupender Yadav has also chaired many important committees of the Parliament, steering significant legislations like the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2015, the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2015 and the Financial Resolution and Deposit Insurance Bill, 2017. A prolific author and a voracious reader, the Hon’ble Minister has keen interest in poetry, literature and philosophy, yog sadhna and meditation. His published works include The Rise of the BJP and Supreme Court on Forest Conservation (co-author). In addition, Shri Yadav has published several articles in ‘Nyayapravah’, a legal magazine published by the Akhil Bharatiya Adhivakta Parishad and in other leading newspapers and magazines.
