About the Speaker:
Cdr (Dr) Kapil Narula holds an interdisciplinary PhD in Economics and a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering. He has over 20 years of versatile work experience across India, Europe, and the WANA region while leading several teams in the shipping industry, government, international organisations, think tanks, and universities. He works on technical, environmental, and social aspects of energy transition and sustainability. He is the author/editor of seven books, and more than 100 articles/papers; he is on the Editorial Board of ten academic journals. After a short stint as a Lead (Adviser) (Energy) at the rank of a Joint Secretary at NITI Aayog, Government of India, he joined the United Nations as an international civil servant. He is currently working on energy sustainability issues at the UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (UNESCWA), Beirut.
