Experience

Sameer Guduru obtained his PhD in the niche area of Femtosecond Laser Microfabrication from Politecnico Di Milano, Italy. He thereafter held the role of a Research Engineer with Laboratory LP3, Marseille, France in the field of Laser Induced Forward Transfer, applied in creating microelectronic circuits on flexible substrates. He later pursued Masters in International Relations from Symbiosis School of International Studies, Pune. He worked as an Associate Fellow with the National Maritime Foundation, and researched in the field of Maritime Facets of Energy and Maritime Technology Studies. He keenly focused on renewable energy produced through Hydrogen Fuel Cells. His extensive five-part series titled ‘Adoption of Hydrogen by India’ can be read on the NMF website.

OFFSHORE WIND ENERGY, SAGARMALA, AND THE BLUE ECONOMY

Author: The SAGARMALA Project and Predicted Energy-Requirements Launched in 2015, the SAGARMALA Project (SP) is a contemporary, mega undertaking of the Government of India (GoI) that is aimed at ‘port-led’ comprehensive and holistic development of the country as a whole.  Its stated vision is to “reduce logistics cost[s] for both domestic and EXIM cargo with minimal […]

HYDROGEN FUEL ADOPTION: AN OCEAN RENEWABLE ENERGY APPROACH   PART 5: HYDROGEN-FUEL — THE OPTION-OF-CHOICE FOR INDIA

Author: This is the fifth and final segment of the NMF’s five-part advocacy[1] of the adoption of hydrogen derived from Ocean Renewable Energy Resources (ORER) and the adoption of this hydrogen-fuel, instead of fossil-fuels, for India’s maritime-transport and port sectors.  It builds upon the strength of the preceding part (Part 4), which had demonstrated that far […]

HYDROGEN FUEL ADOPTION: AN OCEAN RENEWABLE ENERGY APPROACH   PART 4: HYDROGEN-FUEL FROM ‘ORER’ — A HYBRID SOLUTION FOR MARITIME ACTIVITY

Author: This is the fourth and penultimate tranche of the NMF’s ongoing effort to provide Indian policy-makers with a compelling set of arguments to not only support ocean renewable energy resources (ORER) as an economically viable and ecologically sustainable option to supplement solar and onshore wind energy, but to specifically adopt hydrogen-fuel derived from the oceans […]

ASSESSING THE SHIPPING INDUSTRY’S CONTRIBUTION TO GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS

Author: The impacts of climate change are now affecting the way of life for billions of people in almost every part of the planet.  Future projections, derived from the latest climate models, suggest that the global average temperature could rise by as much as 5.6 °C above pre-industrial levels if the carbon dioxide (CO2) concentration in […]

HYDROGEN FUEL ADOPTION: AN OCEAN RENEWABLE ENERGY APPROACH PART 2: GUIDING INDIA’s INEVITABLE TRANSITION TO THE REPLACEMENT OF FOSSIL-FUELS BY CLEAN RENEWABLE ENERGY

Author: The succeeding paragraphs constitute the second part (Part 2) of a three-part advocacy of the need for India to secure its future energy-security by effecting a transition away from fossil fuels.  The three parts, taken in aggregate, seek to provide Indian policy-makers with a compelling set of arguments, to not only support ocean-based renewable energy […]
