SUMMARY:The Third RTC Under the Admiral A K Chatterji Fellowship
DESCRIPTION:The NMF offers the Admiral AK Chatterji (AKC) Fellowship to scholars to write a book.  The Admiral A K Chatterji Fellowship was instituted by the family in memory of the late Admiral AK Chatterji to undertake research on maritime issues.  The duration of the fellowship is 18 months and is offered to serving naval officers/ young academics by the National Maritime Foundation, New Delhi.
The book project under the current fellowship is being pursued by Captain KK Agnihotri, a serving Indian Naval Officer, who is currently a Senior Fellow with the Centre for Joint Warfare Studies, New Delhi.  Captain Agnihotri has also been a Research Fellow at the NMF from 2009 to 2014.  The tentative title of his book is “Leveraging of High Technology Developments by China in Military and Maritime Domain: Impact on the Indian Ocean Regional Security”.  The book consists of eight chapters including the introduction and conclusion chapters.
Three Round Table Conferences (RTCs) were planned wherein the six main chapters would be presented by the author and comments on the chapters would be offered by a discussant, who is a domain expert on the particular theme. Till date two RTCs have been conducted.
The third RTC is scheduled on 28 July 2020 wherein Captain Agnihotri will present the chapter 5 and 6, whose tentative titles are “High Technology Developments In PLA Navy For Increasing Its Operational Effectiveness ” and  “Implications For India And Indian Maritime Sphere”, respectively.  The discussant for this RTC is Commodore Anil Jai Singh (Retd), Vice President, Indian Maritime Foundation.
